The Nkoranza Traditional Council has dismissed reports of invoking curses on the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and its flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, over alleged disrespect.
The chief of Doromakese in Nkoranza North of the Bono East region and his elders invoked cures on Mr Mahama and the NDC parliamentary candidate, Joseph Mensah for disrespecting them.
Obrempong Danso Abeam and his elders were made to sit and wait for 7 hours following a promise by John Mahama to pay a courtesy call when he began his tour on Monday, September 2.
Unfortunately, the former President visited Doromakese but for reasons not known did not visit the palace, an incident that has sparked anger among the traditional authorities.
The chiefs expressing their anger banned NDC campaign activities in Doromakese and invoked the gods to deal with anyone who would vote for Mahama and Mensah.
However, the Nkoranza Traditional Council in a statement said the action do not reflect its values and practices.
Pledging commitment to fostering dialogue and collaboration with all political parties, the Council has urged the public to disregard the false claims and encouraged responsible reportage.
