Nkawkaw old station drivers cry out as pragyia riders cause huge traffic

-

Taxi drivers at Nkawkaw Old Station are expressing frustration as pragyia riders cause traffic congestion every evening from 4:00 p.m. onwards.

They are appealing to authorities to intervene.

Nkawkaw, the Municipal capital of Kwahu West, has become choked with pragyia riders, particularly around the old lorry station.

According to the old station drivers, pragyia riders have been allocated a designated station at Nkawkaw Accra-town near Dumpong Rural Bank.

However, around 4:00 p.m., the riders leave their station and come to the T-junction (Kwaku Debra’s area) to load passengers, which consistently leads to heavy traffic.

The drivers have therefore appealed to authorities, including the MCE, MTTD Commander, and Assembly Member, to address the issue by preventing the riders from loading passengers on the main road.

The drivers also mentioned that many market women have moved from the central market to sell along the roadside near the old station, which exacerbates the problem.

They are urging the authorities to take action to resolve these challenges.
