The Methodist Bishop of the Nkawkaw Diocese, Very Rev. Dr. Ato Baafi, has urged Ghanaians to safeguard the Kwahu Easter celebrations, emphasizing the festival’s significant contribution to the local economy.
Speaking at the 9th Synod of the Methodist Church held at Kwahu Atibie, the Bishop noted that the annual festivities play a vital role in stimulating economic activities in the area and must be preserved and promoted for the benefit of the community.
“Kwahu Easter is more than just a celebration — it supports livelihoods and drives economic growth. We must protect and uphold it,” he stated.
Very Rev. Dr. Baafi also disclosed that the Methodist Church has ventured into agriculture to support its operations and urged the youth, especially members of the Church, to embrace emerging opportunities in the sector.
He encouraged young people to take advantage of government initiatives, including the upcoming ‘Nkoko Nketenkete’ poultry farming programme, as a means of securing sustainable livelihoods and contributing to national development.
