The Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram and Minister for Communications, Digitalisation, and Innovation, Samuel Nartey George, has secured a commitment from the Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) to address the worsening water crisis in his constituency.

In a Facebook post on Sunday, March 16, he described the water situation in Ningo and Prampram as “extremely critical,” noting that supply had deteriorated significantly in recent weeks.

Mr. George said he engaged with the new Managing Director of GWCL on Saturday and received assurances that residents would see some improvement in water supply starting Tuesday, March 19.

“Yesterday, I got firm assurances from the new MD for the Ghana Water Company Ltd that from coming Tuesday, we should see some improvement in water supply all the way to the end of the week,” he stated.

He also disclosed that the GWCL boss had promised to visit the constituency during the week to assess the situation firsthand.

While welcoming the commitment, the MP stressed the need for a long-term solution to the recurring water shortages.

“I will continue to coordinate with his office as we seek a long-term fix to the challenge,” he assured.

In the meantime, he pledged to maintain support through water tanker deliveries to ease the burden on affected residents.

Mr. George also expressed gratitude to the Greater Accra Regional Minister for his intervention in addressing the crisis.
