The Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) has announced a nine-member committee to oversee the vetting of entries and selection of winners for the 28th Annual GJA Media Awards. George-Ramsey Benamba, Chief Editor at the Ghana News Agency (GNA), will chair the committee.
The committee members include:

– Loretta Vanderpuye, Regional Director, Ghana Broadcasting Corporation Obonu FM / TV
– Joana Afua Mensah, News Editor, United Television (UTV)
– Isaac Yeboah, Editor, Myjoyonline.com
– William A. Asiedu, Head of News, 3FM and Co-host, Sunrise Morning Show on TV3
– Nana Kofi Acquah, International Photojournalist
– Michael Quaye, Deputy News Editor, Daily Graphic
– Isaac Nuamah Yeboah, News Director, Atinka Media Village
The committee is tasked with selecting winners in 36 award categories for this year’s ceremony, set to take place at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) on September 28, 2024.
For the first time, the Akoto Ampaw Award for Democracy & Good Governance will be presented. This award honours the late legal practitioner for his commitment to media freedom.
Key awards include the prestigious P. A. V. Ansah Journalist of the Year, Best Female Journalist of the Year, Most Promising Journalist of the Year, and Best Student Journalist of the Year.
This year’s awards will mark the climax of the GJA’s 75th Anniversary, promising a grand event with national and international dignitaries in attendance.
