The incumbent Member of Parliament for Odododiodoo, Edwin Nii Lante Vanderpuye will be going unopposed in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) primary for his constituency.
The MP’s only contender in the Odododiodoo race, Space Clottey did not file his nomination forms.
Speaking to Citi News after filing his nomination, Mr. Vanderpuye said he will increase the number of votes for the NDC in the area by 30,000 in the 2020 elections.

He secured 36,606 of the vote in 2016 election which represented 57.04 percent of the ballots cast when he beat Nii Lante Bannerman.
According to Nii Lante, his decision to contest was arrived at following the support from his constituents to continue with the developmental projects he has begun.
“I’m very confident. We’ve done a lot. We’ve achieved a lot and we will continue to sustain that development and that achievement… I’m already in motion. So I will continue to do what I have to do as an MP and also do what I have to do as a candidate to win by a massive vote.”

The Parliamentary primaries have been scheduled to take place on 24th August 2019.
The Odododiodoo is an NDC stronghold and has been represented by the party since 2004.
The only time it was represented by a New Patriotic Party was after 2000, when Reginald Nii Bi Ayibonte beat the NDC’s two time MP, Nii Okaija Adamafio in a relatively tight election.
