Nigerian Afro-pop singer, Burna Boy claims that Nigerians only love and appreciate him now because the rest of the world does.
The self-acclaimed ‘African Giant’ made this statement in a recent interview with Billboard where he spoke about his new album.
In the interview, he said, “Nigerians love me a lot more now because they can see that the whole world likes me, too.
“They think I’m something special, but I’m not. I’m just a human whose skill is making music. The way I see it, everyone plays their own role in the world, and no role is more important than the other.”
Speaking about his plans to make his music reach the global audience, he said he has plans of doing a worldwide tour which will take him to China and other places far from home.
He added that he will start his tour on August 9th in Toronto, Canada.
“This has always been my vision. Not like I planned it, just that I knew I should stick to doing what I’m doing.
“It’s almost like climbing steps — you keep going up.”
