NIB officials allegedly besiege Ntim Fordjour’s residence

-

Officials of the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) have reportedly surrounded the residence of Assin South MP and Ranking Member of the Defence and Interior Committee, Rev. John Ntim Fordjour, with intentions to arrest him.

This was disclosed by New Patriotic Party (NPP) General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, in a post on Facebook, where he also added the hashtag #SayNoToStateIntimidation.

Following Kodua’s post, Manhyia South MP, Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah, also confirmed the situation, stating that over 20 men, claiming to be National Security operatives, had surrounded Rev. Fordjour’s house.

As of now, the NIB or National Security has not provided any official comment on the incident.

The development comes amidst a controversy involving allegations of suspicious flights possibly linked to drug trafficking and money laundering.

Rev. Fordjour had previously cited intelligence sources suggesting that the aircraft involved could be transporting illicit substances such as cocaine and large sums of U.S. dollars.

This has sparked calls from some members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), including Sammy Gyamfi and Felix Kwakye Ofosu, for Rev. Fordjour’s arrest, urging him to substantiate his claims or face legal action.
