Nhyira FM’s “ABEN WO HA” Show has been adjudged the Most Influential Radio Program of the Year at the 2024 Floodlight Media Excellence Awards in Kumasi.
The “ABEN WO HA” Show is a social program centred on educating the masses on life choices presented in entertaining and humorous format.
Over the years, the uniqueness and hilarious manner of delivering thoughtful messages have made the show gain popularity with large audiences within the country and abroad.
The show, which airs every Saturday from 12:00 – 2:00 PM, also recaps stories aired on Obra and Ewiase Mu Nsem, both of which are life-based programs on Nhyira 104.5 FM under the Multimedia Group.
Host of Aben Wo Ha Show, Amansankyeam Kwadwo Beng Mireku and his crew thanked the organizers for the recognition and appreciated his predecessors for passing the baton to him.
Even though it was a fierce contest among noble programs aired on radio and television, the Aben Wo Ha Show emerged the winner through the enormous support from cherished audiences all over the world.
The fourth edition of the Floodlight Awards scheme was under the theme “Creating Awareness of Peace for Election 2024 through Independent Media”.
The CEO of FloodLight Media Excellence Award, Augustine Acquah, noted the purpose for venturing into the scheme was to honour the tireless work of the press.
“I have been a media person myself, and I realized how difficult journalism work is, yet many are not paid nor appreciated. Therefore, I decided to motivate my colleagues in my little way, so that’s how FloodLight Media Excellence Award was birth,” he explained.
Nominees and awardees in ecstasy commended the organizers for their impact but challenged them to do more.
In attendance at the event were chiefs, Members of Parliaments, veteran and young journalists, entrepreneurs, and student journalists, among others.
Performances from Flow King Stone and other artists made the event intriguing.
