NHIA struggling to buy Amoxicillin – Sam George mocks NHIA CEO [Listen]

-

The Member of Parliament for the Ningo Prampram, Samuel Nartey George has said the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) struggling under the current government.

Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Tuesday, he claimed the health insurance scheme is struggling to buy common drugs like amoxicillin.

“The NHIA has been struggling under both the NDC and the NPP. Their boss is even struggling to buy amoxicillin. Some issues such as the LGBTQ practices are not political—they have real consequences for our health system. If this behavior continues, we will face even more challenges, such as increased renal failures” he warned.

He stressed the urgency of addressing these health issues.

“Korle Bu Teaching Hospital is already grappling with renal failure cases. Allowing LGBTQ practices could worsen the situation. It’s not about importing the foolishness of others under the guise of being developed.”

The Ningo Prampram MP reiterated his reasons for advocating the anti-LGBTQ bill.

“If Ghana allows LGBTQ practices, the NHIA will suffer even more than it does now. This is why I am strongly advocating for the anti-LGBTQ bill.”
