The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has pledged to rehabilitate and construct markets in all border towns across Ghana if elected president in the December 7 general elections.
He explained that this initiative forms part of a comprehensive strategy to enhance trade activities in border communities nationwide.
Addressing a mini-campaign rally in Elubo during his Western Region tour, Mahama reiterated his commitment to completing all stalled projects in the area.
“Elubo and Aflao are both border towns. In Lomé, for instance, there’s a large market hub that even serves Ghanaian traders, but we can’t say the same for Aflao. That’s why we’ve committed in the NDC manifesto to rehabilitate existing market centers and construct new ones in all border towns to attract traders from neighboring countries,” he stated.
