Head of the Local Government Service, Dr Nana Ato Arthur, has admitted the appointment of 26 new Municipal Chief Executives (MDCEs) has come late.
However, Dr Arthur has said President Nana Akufo-Addo who is the coach in charge knows what is best for the nation.
He made these remarks on Adom FM Burning Issues.
Akufo-Addo on February 2, 2024 nominated 26 new officers after the appointment of 24 serving MDCEs were revoked.
The move has sparked mixed reactions with many questioning its relevance given that Akufo-Addo has 10 months to complete his tenure.
But Dr Arthur has expressed confidence these new people will ahead development in their area and probably do what their predecessors could not do.
“Time is not on our side but the president is like a coach who can make changes even in the 89th minute. Those changes can make an impact far above those who started from the beginning,” he said.
