An independent parliamentary candidate for New Juaben North in the Eastern Region, Emmanuel Ofosu Yeboah, has pledged rent-free housing to able-bodied individuals who marry persons with disabilities.
This initiative, he stated, aims to reduce stigma and promote inclusivity for persons with disabilities within the community.
Yeboah made this announcement during a recent debate hosted by the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE).
He emphasized that his campaign is committed to fostering social equality and addressing the barriers faced by people with disabilities.
In addition to his housing pledge, Yeboah outlined his vision for job creation and agricultural support, adding that these initiatives are crucial for economic development and empowerment in the region.
As a member of the physically challenged community, he noted that his policy could have a significant impact on reducing social discrimination and boosting local economic opportunities.
