Netizens mocks NPP communicator over vow to burn himself if Mahama wins

-

As the dust settles on the 2024 general elections, a National Communicator of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is under public scrutiny following his dramatic promise made ahead of the polls.

Benjamin Gyewu-Appiah in a live television broadcast prior to the election vowed to set himself on fire in the studio if NDC candidate John Dramani Mahama won the presidential election.

His exact words were, “I will douse myself with kerosene in this studio and burn myself alive on live TV if John Mahama wins. This is not a joke; it’s on record.”

With the Electoral Commission officially declaring Mahama as the winner, social media users and political commentators have been quick to remind Gyewu-Appiah of his bold statement.

Social media platforms have been flooded with memes and comments, with some users humorously questioning whether he plans to fulfill his pledge.

Others have called for the statement to be dismissed as mere political gimmick.

As of now, Gyewu-Appiah has not issued a public statement regarding his earlier promise.
