The National Democratic Congress(NDC) Parliamentary candidate, Awurabena Aubynn as the winner of the Ablekuma North 2024 election.
The declaration was made at the Electoral Commission’s (EC) Greater Accra Regional Office on Tuesday, December 10.
This follows hours of dispute and confusion over missing pink sheets.
Ahead of the declaration, hundreds of NDC supporters besieged the EC office, demanding a declaration in favour of its candidate.
The process which was scheduled for 10:00 am was suspended by the EC as tension heightened after results from 219 out of the 281 polling stations had been collated.
At the collation centre, a heated standoff ensued between candidates of the NDC and the New Patriotic Party (NPP), with both sides accusing each other of undermining the will of the people.
It is however not clear the results based on which Awurabena was declared winner as some pink sheets were reported missing.
The EC did not also put out any figures.
