NDC stole my 24-hour economy policy – GUM flagbearer [Video]

-

Flagbearer of the Ghana Union Movement (GUM), Christian Kwabena Andrews, has revealed that the 24-Hour Economy being championed by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and its flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, is originally his idea.

He claimed that, John Mahama and the NDC stole the concept from his 2020 manifesto.

Mr. Mahama has promised to implement a 24-hour Economy to help create jobs and boost Ghana’s economy if he is elected President on December 7, 2024.

However, Christian Kwabena Andrews, popularly known as ‘Kyiri Abosom’, in an interview with Nana Osei Ampofo Adjei on Adom TV’s current affairs show, The Big Agenda claimed the 24-hour economy policy was in his 2020 manifesto.

Outlining some of his policies for Ghanaians if he becomes President, he mentioned plans to implement free medical care, free electricity, GHC10,000 seed capital for every youth to start their choice of business, and a free port.

He also noted that under his presidency, government agencies would operate 24 hours a day, creating an environment that allows people to work multiple jobs if they choose.

When the host, Mr. Ampofo Adjei, asked if he was copying the NDC’s 24-hour Economy, Kyiri Abosom responded that it was originally his idea, which the NDC had stolen.

He urged people to “read my 2020 manifesto; it’s captured on page 8.”

The GUM leader further added that, under his leadership, no one would work more than six hours a day.

When asked why he had not commented on the supposed theft of his idea earlier, he replied, “It’s on Adom where breaking news is made, so that’s why I’m here to break it to you.
