Supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) were captured hurling stones and other objects at each other in Salaga in the Savannah region.

Adom News’s reporter, Owusu Job reported that, the violent clash erupted following the recent launch of DRIP equipment by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo which provided road materials and vehicles to each constituency.

According to the report, both parties had urged their supporters to gather and receive the DRIP equipment from Damongo, with each side claiming ownership of the materials.

This led to a physical confrontation, resulting in two people being seriously injured and rushed to the Salaga District Hospital, while others sustained minor injuries.

“Scores of NPP and NDC supporters in Salaga are now fighting for their lives after a brawl broke out over the arrival of the District Road Improvement Programme equipment,” the report said.

In a video which has gone viral, the youth are seen brandishing various weapons and throwing stones and anything else they could find at each other.
