NDC MP calls for resignation of Ghana Beyond Aid members over cover page gaffe (Audio)

-

National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament (MP) for Kumbungu, Ras Mubarak has urged members of the Ghana Beyond Aid Committee to resign over the strategy document cover page gaffe.

To the MP, an apology from the Committee is not enough, but a resignation will save their image after the apology and also serve as deterrent to others.

Speaking in an interview with Adom News, Mr Mubarak said there have been instances where negligence of some State officials had caused embarrassment to the presidency, internationally.

“I strongly feel the Committee members must resign because we don’t build a country like that and in this case, it is about the integrity of the country. They must even voluntarily resign,” he said.

“If students are punished for copying, then the senior members of the State should resign for the embarrassment they have caused the president and the country internationally,” he added.

A strategy document, put together by the Committee, headed by Senior Minister Yaw Osafo Marfo, depicted high rise buildings over green landscape which turned out to be headquarters of Dawit Insurance in Nairobi, Kenya which has received criticisms.

However, the Committee has blamed the mistake committed on the contractor who was awarded the project.
