NDC member reportedly shot during coronation at Awutu Bereku

The Awutu Senya East Municipality branch of the National Democratic Congress is demanding for justice for its member who was shot during a coronation at Awutu Bereku.

The NDC claims the suspect is a bodyguard of Awutu Senya East MP and Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture, Mavis Hawa Koomson.

The deceased, Ato Odoom was reportedly performing with a brass band during the swearing in of some traditional leaders at Awutu Breku when the unfortunate incident occurred on Tuesday evening.

Ato was rushed to the Trauma and Specialist Hospital in Winneba where he is currently undergoing treatment.

Following the incident, the NDC Parliamentary candidate, Phyllis Naa Koryoo Okunor and some members on Wednesday besieged the Kasoa Divisional Police Command, demanding for justice.

Naa Koryoo addressing journalists said the culprit must immediately be brought to book.

She alleged that, the suspect is a the boundary chief of Awutu Ofaakor popularly known as Twa Sa and must not be left off the hook.

Meanwhile the NDC Communications Officer, Stephen Delali has vowed that the party will closely follow the matter.
