NDC hot over alleged leaked tape

-

Deputy Bono East Regional Minister, Martin Gyarko Oti, has rubbished claims he incited party vigilantes to perpetrate violent acts during the voters’ registration exercise.

He said he has initiated steps to file a suit against the party because that is not his voice.

This comes on the back of a leaked tape the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) released at a press conference on Thursday.

The party’s General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, at the briefing, said the leaked audio captures Mr Oti ordering a section of the Invisible and Delta Forces to do everything they must to disenfranchise people, particularly in NDC strongholds.

However, Mr Oti, speaking in an interview on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen show, said he decided not to comment on the issue but the extent of circulation is worrying.

To him, it is an agenda by a Techiman-based radio station owned by an NDC member to tarnish his image.

“The audio was first played on Akina radio at Techiman and the journalist himself was of a strong conviction that was not my voice so I am surprised at Asiedu Nketia’s actions,” he lamented.

Meanwhile, he has urged Mr Nketia and the NDC to ensure they verify their information before circulation.
