Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, said no political party can come to his territory [Ashanti region] to misbehave.

The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) is leading some political parties in series of nationwide protests against the Electoral Commission’s resolve to compile a new register.

They argued that explanations given by the election management body were untenable, hence their resolve to protest till they rescind their decision.

However, going to the stronghold of the ruling party, its Regional Chairman has found the need to lay down the ground rules.

Chairman Wontumi on Adom FM claimed he had picked up intelligence some members of the NDC want to cause chaos during the demonstration.

“NDC should not try anything because I will let the police beat them if they try,” he fumed.

The outspoken NPP Chairman is confident the protestors will be disciplined since he claimed NDC General Secretary; Johnson Asiedu Nketia has given him the needed assurance.

“Asiedu Nketia has assured me they will not misbehave; but I will beat them if they come here and go against the pledge they made to me,” Chairman Wontumi added.
