NDC didn’t bus supporters to Opuni trial – Kofi Adams

-

National Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Kofi Adams has dismissed claims that the party bused supporters to support embattled CEO of  COCOBOD in courts.
Scores of party faithful on Monday flocked to the Accra Courts complex to support the former CEO of Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD), Dr Stephen Opuni, who is facing trial for causing financial loss to the state.

The youth who were seen singing and drumming, told Joy News, they were bused to the Courts complex by National Democratic Congress (NDC) executives.
“Some NDC executives bused us here to support him one” young man told Joy News’ Komla Adom in Ga.
Dr. Opuni was charged earlier in March alongside businessman, Seidu Agongo and Agricult Limited on 27 counts including causing financial loss to the state and selling/buying of misbranded fertilizer products.

Appearing on the first day of their trial Monday, both Dr Opuni and Mr Agongo pleaded not guilty to all 27 counts.
The court has since granted Dr. Opuni bail to the tune of ¢300,000.
But Mr. Adams believes Ghanaians especially the media has not been fair to Dr. Opuni.
According to him, the supporters who thronged the courts did so out of love for Dr. Opuni and therefore they could not have bused them to the court.

“How can you guys be so mean to Dr Opuni. So now people can’t do anything out of love for anyone and would use different means to disgrace Dr Opuni. Did you see any bus here because I didn’t see any,” he said on Accra-based Neat FM monitored by Adomonline.com.
Mr Adams asked Ghanaians to direct their claims of busing to the driver to find out who organized his passengers.
