NDC confident of recapturing Kintampo South seat from NPP

-

The former Member of Parliament for Kintampo South and current National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate, Felicia Agyei, has expressed strong confidence in winning back the Kintampo South parliamentary seat from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the upcoming general election.

Addressing her enthusiastic supporters on Tuesday after submitting her nomination forms, she promised to reclaim the seat, which has historically been a stronghold of the NDC.

The Kintampo South constituency, created in 2004, has largely been dominated by the NDC in both parliamentary and presidential elections.

However, in 2020, Alexander Gyan of the NPP won the seat for the first time in a surprising result that saw NDC supporters split their votes between the presidential and parliamentary candidates.

The NDC is determined to reverse this trend, especially since Kintampo South is the home constituency of former First Lady Lordina Mahama.

After NPP candidate Alexander Gyan filed his nomination earlier with a large show of support, Felicia Agyei and her followers took to the streets to demonstrate their readiness for the electoral battle.

She expressed confidence that she would be victorious in the December elections.

The NDC constituency chairman, Robert Sakyi, also voiced optimism, reiterating the party’s determination to win back the seat.
