The National Education Forum engagements are set to begin today, Tuesday, February 18, 2025, with a series of zonal meetings scheduled to take place across the country.
The events will culminate in a two-day validation conference in Accra, starting on Thursday, February 27.
The first zonal engagement will kick off in Ho, the Volta Regional capital, covering the Volta and Oti regions. The eight-member National Education Forum Planning Committee has outlined a well-structured plan to engage stakeholders from various regions, with the final validation workshop taking place at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), on February 27 and 28.
To ensure smooth execution, the country has been divided into three zones: northern, middle, and southern regions. Each zone will have its own dedicated engagements to facilitate the consultation process.
The Greater Accra and Eastern regions will hold their engagement in Accra on February 21, 2025, while the Western and Central regions will meet in Cape Coast on the same day.
Stakeholders from the Upper East and North East regions will converge in Bolgatanga, while the Western North, Bono, Ahafo, and Bono East regions will meet in Sunyani on February 24.
The final set of engagements will take place for the Upper West, Savannah, and Northern regions in Tamale on February 25, with the Ashanti Region holding a separate meeting in Kumasi on February 26.
These engagements are part of a broader initiative to foster inclusive dialogue and collaboration among key stakeholders in Ghana’s education sector, with the validation conference in Accra providing an opportunity to finalize and refine key issues for the future of education in the country.
