NPP Chairman reacts to NDC’s position on referendum

The National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is of the view that the Minority Leader in Parliament must resign over the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) U-turn on the December referendum.

According to Chairman Freddie Blay, the ‘NO’ campaign from the NDC is shocking following the series of stakeholder engagements they had as part of discussions for the referendum.

“I thought we have had enough consultations with the various parties on the December referendum and had an agreement but it is shocking the NDC is now denying and making a U-turn,” he said.

Speaking in an interview on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen show, Chairman Blay described the U-turn of the NDC as pedestrian and backward way of politicking.

“NDC and the Minority Leader lack principles and sincerity over a ‘Yes’ vote U-turn and Haruna Iddrisu should resign because he has lost it after agreeing to a ‘Yes’ vote,” he said

“How can you boldly argue for a ‘Yes’ vote and suddenly give it up after your party chairman comes out to say the NDC is for a ‘No’ vote?” he quizzed.
