The Ghana National Fire Service team caused a huge surprise by grabbing all the trophies from Tag of War, Volleyball and Soccer at the corporate fun games organised by the National Ambulance Service to celebrate their 20 years in the pre-hospital care setting.
Speaking at the event the Chief Executive Officer for the National Ambulance Service, Prof. Ahmed Nuhu Zakariah stated that, all over the world Fire Service and Ambulance Service work together and that the main purpose of the games is to strengthen the relationship between the two.
“In all over the world the Fire Service and National Ambulance Service work together and Ghana is not an exception, our fun games are to cement the relationship but not a do-and-die affair, “ he said.
He thanked the organisers of the games and added that is not a big deal to see Ghana Fire Service winning but they are trying to maintain their seniority in the National Ambulance Service.
The coach of the Ghana National Fire Service soccer team Rebecca Narh also said winning the game has given her the platform to advance in her coaching career.
The Soccer team Coach of the National Ambulance Service, Bernard Bortier also attributed their poor performance to inadequate training and preparation and assured the fans that it would be a different story next time.
The National Ambulance Service was established in 2004 with just seven(7) pilot stations after a Stadium Disaster to the current number of two hundred and ninety-seven(297)stations across the country.
