Narteh Ogum hails Heart of Lions after stalemate in Kpando

Asante Kotoko head coach, Prosper Narteh Ogum, has lauded Heart of Lions following their 1-1 draw on Matchday 26 of the Ghana Premier League, describing them as a “very formidable” and “well-organized” side.

Speaking in a post-match interview, Ogum praised the Kpando-based team for their strong showing, particularly their defensive resilience.

“If you look at Heart of Lions, they are doing very well in the league. They are a very good side with a solid defensive network, so it’s very difficult to score against them,” he said.

Kotoko took the lead through Justice Blay, but the home side responded quickly with an equalizer from Ali Fawaz to share the points.

Reflecting on the outcome, Ogum said he was satisfied with the result given the difficulty of playing in Kpando.

“Playing here with them having the 12th man and coming back to equalize after we took the lead, having a point is okay,” he added.

Despite the draw, Asante Kotoko remain top of the league with 46 points, while Heart of Lions sit third with 41 points.

Kotoko will next host Bechem United as Heart of Lions travel to face Berekum Chelsea at the Golden City Park this weekend.
