Nankese-Abisim Chief appeals for CHPS compound to address healthcare challenges

-

The Chief of Nankese-Abisim in the Suhum Municipality of the Eastern Region, Nene Baffour Adjanor IV, has called on the government to establish a Community-based Health Planning Services (CHPS) Compound in the area.

The farming community currently lacks a health facility, forcing residents to travel to Suhum, Koforidua, and Nsawam for basic healthcare services.

CHPS compounds are designed to bring essential health services closer to rural and underserved communities.

However, the absence of such a facility in Nankese-Abisim has left residents struggling to access timely and quality healthcare.

Nene Baffour Adjanor IV emphasized the urgent need for a CHPS compound to address minor health issues locally and reduce the burden on residents.

The Chief made the appeal during a ceremony where the Nkosuohene of the community, Nana Dr. Ofori-Atta, supported 53 youth apprentices with logistics and fully covered their training expenses.

Nana Dr. Ofori-Atta explained that this initiative aims to equip the youth with skills to start their businesses and reduce unemployment in the area.

Both leaders expressed hope that these efforts would foster development in Nankese-Abisim and improve the quality of life for its residents.
