Amankwah will work alongside head coach Aboubakar Ouattara ahead of the new campaign. The appointment means assistant coach, Abdul Bashir has left his role.
Hearts of Oak will hope for an improved performance next season, having secured their Premier League status on the final day of the season with a 3-2 win against Bechem United.
The Phobian Club will start their 2024/25 Ghana Premier League campaign with a home game against debutant side, Basake Holy Stars at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season has been slated to kick off on September 6.
