Nana Owusu Achiaw Brempong adjudged 2024 National Best Farmer

A 70-year-old farmer from the Sekyere Central District in the Ashanti Region, Nana Owusu Achiaw Brempong, has been named the National Best Farmer.

With a farming career spanning 50 years, Nana Owusu is the owner of North American Farms, which employs 168 workers and cultivates a variety of crops, including cocoa and cashew.

As part of his award, he received one million Ghana cedis.

In his acceptance speech during the Farmers Day celebration on November 8, Nana Owusu called for increased efforts toward ensuring food security.

The Farmers Day event, held simultaneously across the country, recognized the hard work and contributions of farmers to the national economy.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and other dignitaries were present at the occasion.
