Hot Audio: Nana Addo on a mission to hunt NPP's biggest enemy – Asiedu Nketia

The General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), has described as dangerous, moves by President Akufo-Addo to forward the petition seeking the impeachment of the Electoral Commission (EC) chairperson, to the Chief Justice.
According to Johnson Asiedu Nketia, the process is not transparent since the petition against the EC boss had emanated from some faceless personalities claiming to be staff of the Commission.
“Charlotte Osei is now NPP’s biggest enemy and I see this process as a test for the NPP. The mere fact that a President will receive a petition from people who are not known and I mean ghosts then it tells me our dear President, Nana Akufo Addo is really working with ghosts because he knows them”, he argued on Accra based Okay Fm.
Chief Justice, Sophia Akuffo, initiated what many say is a possible impeachment process when she empaneled a five-member committee last month to look into the allegations.
The inquisitorial committee, whose members are yet to be made public, is expected to investigate Mrs Osei, together with her two deputies, Georgina Opoku-Amankwa, who is in-charge of Corporate Services and Amadu Sulley, in charge of Operations for professional breaches.
The EC was thrown into turmoil in July this year after some unnamed staff petitioned President Akufo-Addo to trigger an impeachment process against Charlotte Osei.
Mrs Osei launched her own attack, drawing in the two deputies.
The accusation against Charlotte Osei included funneling of GH¢3.9 million to partition an office, her receipt of a Toyota Land Cruiser from the Mahama government, expending about $14 million when the Public Procurement Authority had authorized her to use only $7.5 million.
Commenting on the issue, Mr. Asiedu Nketia accused the NPP government of orchestrating the removal of the Electoral Commission, Charlotte Osei.
He argued that the NPP’s approach in fighting corruption is flawed and as such the right procedure should be used in prosecutions.
He urged President Akufo Addo to tread cautiously since any attempt to impeach the EC boss, will only undermine the country’s democracy.
