Tensions have escalated in the Awutu Senya East Constituency (Kasoa) following a deadly attack on the campaign team of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate, Naa Koryoo.
One team member is feared dead, and another has sustained injuries after being reportedly assaulted and shot by thugs riding in a V8 car.
The tragic incident unfolded as the team, including the constituency organizer, was returning home when they were ambushed.
The attack marks the second fatality of the day linked to election-related violence.
Earlier, a shooting incident in Nyankpala, Northern Region, claimed one life and left another person injured.
Authorities have since arrested four individuals who are assisting with investigations into the Nyankpala incident.
Security agencies are under increasing pressure to ensure peace and safety as Ghana heads to the polls. Investigations into both incidents are ongoing.
