Residents of Ligugulibo in the Tatale-Sanguli constituency of the Northern region have declared their Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, Tampi Acheampong Simon a persona non grata.
The residents say the MP has failed to fulfil a promise he made prior to the 2016 December polls.
Adom News’ visit to the constituency revealed that the road to the town is in a deplorable state.
Many communities in the constituency have no access to health care because of the poor road network in the area.
A resident who spoke to Adom News, Janyi Nawure said the Member of Parliament pledged to construct a major road; build a school and also get them good drinking water but that promise is yet to see the light of day.
According to the resident, he has never stepped a foot in the community since he won the elections hence their decision to remind him of the promise.

“Hon. Simon came here and promised us he will fix this road for us and build a school for us and add good drinking water but after we voted for him he has never come here to fulfil his promise as he said. We know he will come again for another election campaign…” he said.
Some other residents who also spoke to Adom News cautioned the MP not to take them for granted.
“The nature of the road is very bad and is causing flood anytime it rains. Our MP came here and promised us that he will fix it for us but he never fulfilled after the election but he should know 2020 is just around the corner and we will vote against him,” he added.
