Former Chief Executive Officer of Hearts of Oak, Harry Zakour, has disclosed that his wife nearly divorced him after using his children’s school fees to fund the club.

Zakour explained that, he had to cover the club’s travel expenses for a competition, which led to the financial decision.

In an interview with Muftawu Nabila on Joy News, the veteran football administrator and politician said this choice caused significant strain in his marriage.

“I paid for the tickets and travel expenses of the team for a competition. I used my kids’ school fees to make those payments, and my wife almost divorced me,” he said.

However, he said they were able to resolve the issue amicably and saved his marriage.

Zakour, who served as CEO of Hearts of Oak for six years, is considered one of the most successful club CEOs in the history of Ghana football.

His greatest achievement was in 2000 when the club won the Ghana Premier League, the Ghana FA Cup, the Africa CAF Champions League, and the Africa Super Cup.

Before joining Hearts of Oak, Zakour also served as Chairman of Great Olympics.
