The newly confirmed and elected Municipal Chief Executive(MCE) for Ketu North in the Volta Region, Martin Prince Kobla Amenaki, has pledged an ambitious vision to reset the area and position it for comprehensive development.
Mr. Amenaki said this in his acceptance speech after an overwhelming 100% endorsement by 55 Assembly members and government appointees.
“My vision for Ketu North is clear and ambitious: to reset our constituency for comprehensive development in all aspects of life. This is not a task I can undertake alone.
It requires a collective effort, a unified spirit, and the active participation of every resident,” he said.
Mr. Amenaki also expressed readiness to forge a strong and productive partnership with the Member of Parliament(MP), Eric Edem Agbana.
“His dedication to Ketu North is undeniable, and I believe that by working hand-in-hand, we can achieve unprecedented progress. Our collaboration will be built on mutual respect, open communication, and a shared determination to deliver tangible benefits to our people,” he said.
Touching on economic empowerment, he stated, “We will work tirelessly to create an enabling environment for businesses to thrive, attract investment, and generate sustainable employment opportunities for our youth and all residents.”
“We will explore avenues for skills development, support local entrepreneurs, and promote agriculture as a vital sector of our local economy.”
Acknowledging that education is the bedrock of progress, the MCE pledged to prioritise improving access to quality education at all levels, by ensuring that their schools are well-resourced to promote a culture of learning and innovation.
He pledged that they will invest in their teachers and create opportunities for our students to excel.
On health accessibility, he said, “The health and well-being of our people are paramount. We will strive to enhance healthcare infrastructure, improve access to quality medical services, and promote preventative healthcare measures across our communities.”
He added, we will also focus on upgrading our road networks, improving sanitation and waste management systems, ensuring access to clean water and reliable electricity, and strategic planning for sustainable urban and rural development.
The MCE elect said they will champion inclusivity, ensuring that the needs of all their citizens, regardless of their background or circumstance, are addressed.
