The father of a final year student of O’Reilly Senior High School(SHS) who was stabbed to death by a colleague has expressed pain over the incident.
The deceased has been identified as 18-year-old Edward Borketey Sackey.
In an interview with Accra-based TV3, the aggrieved father who is demanding justice for his son said Edward was stabbed three times in his chest.
Mr Sackey said school management cannot be absolved from the unfortunate incident.
He alleged that, information he picked from students suggests that, teachers looked on unconcerned after the fatal incident.
Recounting his last moment with his son, he explained that he left for work after seeing his son off to school.
Shortly after their goodbyes, he received a distress call from his niece, who told him Edward had been involved in an altercation with another student and stabbed.
The distraught father said he rushed to the school and midway through his journey, Mr Sackey said another call came and he was told Edward had been rushed to LEKMA hospital and hurried there.
“The doctor said Edward has passed away so when they showed me the body, he had been stabbed three times in his chest,” he said.
The grieving father criticised the lack of response from the school authorities, the suspect’s parents and the Police, stating that nobody had reached out to him since the incident on Monday.
He is demanding for justice and explanations from the school authorities on why the teachers refused to intervene.
Accompanied by loved ones clad in red and black attire, they stormed the school premises on Tuesday afternoon but were denied access.
