A man who blamed his girlfriend for ruining their three year anniversary celebrations has been slammed online as point out he made one huge oversight.
The pair were due to celebrate three years together by going on a trip he had planned, but that was cancelled due to the coronavirus crisis.
His girlfriend was upset they weren’t able to go so he decided to try and make the day as special as he could by making her both breakfast and supper in bed, and giving her a massage in between.
He woke up early and made an ‘amazing omelette’, blueberry pancakes and butterscotch muffins, using roses to make a petal pathway leading from the bedroom to the kitchen, where there was also a bottle of wine waiting for her.
Before he could show her what had created, he got a call from a friend who wanted to talk about an issue with his own relationship.
Not wanting to wake her up, he took the call outside and said: “Maybe just 30 to 45 minutes later I went back inside and saw my girlfriend sitting on the couch eating the muffins and drinking a glass of wine while Oscar (our dog) f***ing ATE the omlette.
“Is that even healthy for the dog? Anyways she screamed “Happy Anniversary” and went to hug me but I pushed her away and asked her why Oscar was eating the omlette.
“She said she hated blueberries and pepper so she couldn’t eat the pancakes nor the omelette but said she appreciated it.
“I said something about how if she actually appreciated it Oscar wouldn’t be f***ing eating it and she would’ve left it for me. She completely lost her s*** and pinned it on me about how I should know she doesn’t like pepper and blueberries so actually I’m the one who ruined our anniversary.”
Revealing that the pair were still not on speaking terms, he asked Reddit who had been in the wrong and was quickly made to regret it.
One pointed out: “It’s your three year anniversary and you don’t know your girlfriend well enough to not serve her food she doesn’t like?
“She said she appreciated it regardless and was still obviously just happy to spend time with you before you decided to give her s*** for not liking the food that she clearly has never liked.

“Honestly, you put a lot of thought into a romantic gesture for essentially a different woman entirely, why are you upset with her?”
Another wrote: “You left food sitting there for 45 minutes because taking a phone call was more important, didn’t know that she doesn’t like certain foods after 3 years, pushed her away when she tried to hug and thank you, and then yelled at her about the dog eating the cold food. It doesn’t seem like you were thinking about her at all – you were boosting your own ego and it didn’t work out as planned.”
