Captain Smart: Good morning Salawudeen and how is everything within Delta Force?
Salawudeen: Good morning, everybody at Delta Force is doing well.
Captain Smart: Please, who is Kojo Bamba within Delta Force’s outfit?
Salawudeen: He was the organiser of Delta Force.
Captain Smart: Have you removed him as the organiser?
Salawudeen: No, he wasn’t removed; he was given a job as National Security
Captain Smart: Did you say you got him a job?
Salawudeen: Yes, we got him a job; our leader, Mr Mohammed, got him a job at National Security. He wasn’t the only member who was given a job; they were many.

Captain Smart: Did you search this job for him or he got it based on his qualification?
Salawudeen: Mr Mohammed got a slot [within National Security] and he gave it to them. In fact, there were five of them. He selected five people including Owula, Seaman and Kojo Bamba himself as well as two others, even Cover was one of them.
Captain Smart: So all these guys are at National Security now?
Salawudeen: Yes, they are at National Security and work at the Flagstaff House, working under the President so they can’t be part of a vigilante group anymore
Captain Smart: When you heard him say vigilante groups should be banned from operating, how did you feel?
Salawudeen: His reason for saying so is because he still wants to be controlling the group by collecting monies meant for Delta Force. He [Bamba] has even gone ahead to form another group out of Delta Force so that he can continue to take money from our leaders.
Captain Smart: So, the money you are referring to, where does it come from?
Salawudeen: It comes from leaders of the NPP and he [Bamba] is the one who takes all those monies.
Captain Smart: Since Bamba joined National Security, has he visited Delta Force with any new expertise?
Salawudeen: No

Captain Smart: Do you call him?
Salawudeen: He is our brother; we are fine with him and we do many things together.
Captain Smart: Will you want Delta Force to be collapsed?
Salawudeen: If [President] Akufo-Addo and leaders of the NPP want the collapse of Delta Force, so be it but they should not forget that when he was attacked we were those who revenged.
Captain Smart: What is your membership strength?
Salawudeen: Our members? We are 2,450 with many more people joining
Captain Smart: Are you based in Kumasi only?
Salawudeen: No, we have branches in Obuasi, Ejura, Amanteng, Atebubu, Asanti Mampong and the rest. In fact, we are many.
Captain Smart: But your main base is Asante Region?
Salawudeen: Yes
Captain Smart: What exactly do you do for the NPP?
Salawudeen: We are not God but we are responsible for bringing the NPP to power and we have witnesses including Chairman Wuntumi, Kennedy Agyapong, Agyasei, Maurice B and Amoako Tufuor, even Nana Akufo-Addo knows the work Delta Force did.
Captain Smart: So what exactly do you do, do you only body-guard persons or what?
Salawudeen: We body-guard ballot boxes to ward of the hitherto heinous acts of the NDC who were snatching ballot boxes. But for us, there was no way the NPP would have come to power. Even the ballot box Chairman Wuntumi arrested was as a result of our efforts. There was no way he would have succeeded without our help.
Captain Smart: How do you get the guns you use for your operations, are they provided by the party officials who sponsor your activities or you buy them yourselves?
Salawudeen: We buy our own guns because most of us are land-guards; you know you can’t do the work of a land-guard without weapons.
Captain Smart: Do you still do the work of land-guarding?
Salawudeen: No, we have stopped because we don’t want to bring the NPP into disrepute.
Captain Smart: Have you been given any jobs so far by the NPP?
Salawudeen: Whatever jobs the NPP gives us we will do, even if we have to sweep.
Captain Smart: Are you saying you haven’t gotten any jobs so far?
Salawudeen: Some of our members have gotten jobs with [the] Forestry [Service], thanks to Mr Ahmed. Some others have also gotten jobs at other places but many are those who do not have jobs too.
Captain Smart: Should the Interior Ministry call for your weapons, will you surrender them?
Salawudeen: Now, we don’t have any weapons.

Captain Smart: How do you feel about the presence of many vigilante groups in the Ashanti Region and its attendant lack of peace there?
Salawudeen: As for us, all we want are peaceful elections; Ashanti Region is our home and we will not sit down for anyone to bring chaos here.
Captain Smart: Is there any confusion within Delta Force?
Salawudeen: No, there is no confusion.
Captain Smart: Then how come Kojo Bamba was able to come for some of your members?
Salawudeen: As I said earlier, he was motivated by monies coming from Sammy Awuku and Nana B.
Captain Smart: Did you say Sammi Awuku and Nana B are those who give you money?
Salawudeen: Yes, they are the ones empowering him to do those things and I will say it even in their presence any day
Captain Smart: Where are those members of yours Kojo Bamba has come for; what is the name of the new group?
Salawudeen: I wish I had your WhatsApp number so I send you a photo of them. I hear they are called NSC; they dress in black.
Captain Smart: Did you see any of them at the Ayawaso elections?
Salawudeen: No, I didn’t because of the masks they were wearing. It would be difficult to identify individuals with those masks.
