A Ghanaian resident in Spain has allegedly killed another Ghanaian in a meat factory where they both work.
The happening was made known to the Ghanaian media through a press statement from the Ghana Embassy in Madrid.
The suspect, only identified as Michael K, a 36-year-old man, is alleged to have committed the crime on September 24, 2019.
Michael allegedly killed his Ghanaian co-worker, Yunairu M., following an altercation between the two at their meat-producing factory and workplace in Riba-Roja, Valencia.
According to the Ghana Embassy in Madrid’s release which was signed for the Acting Head of Mission, William Marfo, the suspect stabbed the victim in the neck with a work knife.
The victim of the stab was pronounced dead by emergency medical services upon arrival at the scene.
The statement also confirmed that there has been an existing feud between the deceased and the suspect sometime now with frequent arguments, which culminated in a heated exchange that led to the death of the deceased at about 3 am on the day in question.
The suspect has since been remanded by a Madrid-based court after examining the police report and taking his statement as he awaits trial.
