A group calling itself true members of Alan Kyeremanten’s Movement For Change (MC4) in the Central region has invoked curses following a mass defection to the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Over 100 people on Tuesday announced they have switched alliance to the NPP and pledged to campaign for the flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia to ensure his victory on December 7.

The group’s spokesperson and Polling Station Secretary at Twi-Ndzi, Twi, Gegem Electoral Area in the Cape Coast South, Francis Edzie said the development follows an engagement with the national campaign leadership.

But at another press conference on Wednesday, the angry party members broke eggs and poured libation for the gods of the land to deal with the defectors.

They invoked the wrath of the gods of Oguaa, including Nana Paprata, Nana Fosu, Nana Etueyi, and Nana Tabir, to deal with those behind the lies.

They claimed the defectors were not their members but were influenced by financial inducement to hold the press conference.

“Those who claim to represent us are nothing but impostors,” he stated emphatically.

“They have never been part of the Movement since its inception, and anyone familiar with Cape Coast South politics knows this.”

A former NPP Cape Coast Constituency Chairman, Francis Hutchful popularly called Oguaa Kotoo now a leading member of the M4C lamented that Cape Coast was the first capital of Ghana but can’t boost of any significant development project under NDC and NPP regimes.
