More Japanese companies to invest in Ghana’s economy

The Japanese Ambassador to Ghana, His Excellency Tsutomu Himeno, has announced that more Japanese companies are willing to invest in Ghana’s automobile, energy, health and other sectors of the economy.

According to him, a total of 54 active Japanese companies are currently operating in Ghana and more companies are willing to do business in Ghana.

Ambassador Himeno made this known when he paid a courtesy call on chairman of Parliament’s Committee on Foreign Affairs and Member of Parliament for Nsawam/Adoagyiri, Frank Annoh-Dompreh to deepen the two countries’ bilateral relations.

He added that Japan’s support to Ghana over the years had mainly focused on four thematic areas such as skills development, agriculture, health and infrastructure development.

Ambassador Himeno affirmed Japanese government’s commitment to continue to support the Government of Ghana’s development agenda.

On his part, Chairman of Parliament’s Committee on Foreign Affairs, Frank Annoh-Dompreh thanked the ambassador and the Japanese government for their long standing cooperation with Ghana in the development of the two countries.

Mr Annoh-Dompreh commended Japanese companies in the country such as Toyota Ghana for their contributions to the country’s economy.

He said as Ghana is hosting the Secretariat of the Africa Continental Free Trade Agreement, the country will be delighted to receive support from Japan for military and other security agencies to continue to provide adequate security in the country.
