More photos of the boy who was allegedly shot at close range by a man who claimed he was trespassing on his property have emerged.
The horrific photos show a boy who now has one leg completely amputated with scars at very important parts of his body.
The Senior High School (SHS) 1 student, Kwaku Akambo, was said to be urinating on a wall outside his home when the suspect whose name is given as Christian Adawusu, known to many as Commotion, shot him in the knees before striking him several times in the head.
The incidence which happened at Kato near Berekum in the Brong Ahafo Region took place last year but the Berekum police who the case has been reported to are yet to arraign the suspect before any court.
Accounts from the victim’s father suggest that after Commotion shot Kwaku and hit him with some unknown objects in the head and other parts of his body at about 9:00 pm in his house; he also tried to sever his head but failed in the process.
He then dragged the victim to a refuse dump where he was later found by some locals.
The police say all they have done was to arrest, caution and grant the suspect bail, pending investigations.
On Adom FM’s morning show, Dwaso Nsem, Tuesday, Berekum District Police Commander, Chief Superintendent Nicolas Opare Ofosuhene, confirmed their inaction is seeking justice for the now paralysed boy, saying their primary interest was the victim’s survival.
He has also confirmed that the gun used by the suspect in shooting the victim was unregistered.
Apart from the amputated legs of the victim, other marks he suffered as a result of his ordeal are visible as evident in the attached photos.
Dwaso Nsem will tomorrow, Wednesday, September 5, continue with it’s unravelling of what led to the shooting and the Berekum police’s decision not to prosecute the suspect, almost a year after the case was reported.
Adomonline.com is following the case with keen interest and will bring you every detail as and when they come.
