The Minister-Designate for Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts, Abla Dzifa Gomashie, has committed to prioritizing the development of tourist attractions such as Mole National Park in the Savannah Region.
Speaking during her vetting before Parliament’s Appointments Committee on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, she emphasized the need for strategic investments to enhance the appeal of major tourist destinations.
“I agree with you that Mole, for years, has been one of the most frequently visited sites. What it needs is more investment. Our country must focus on giving more to this sector to attract the required resources. I will be pushing for this agenda,” she stated.
She also highlighted the Black Star Experience model, designed to empower district, municipal, and metropolitan assemblies to undertake arts, tourism, and cultural projects, creating a ripple effect in boosting local economies.
The Member of Parliament for Ketu South, and Queen Mother in the Aflao Traditional Area, also reiterated her vision to position tourism, culture, and creative arts as key drivers of Ghana’s economic growth.
