Mohammed Kudus was on target as West Ham United staged a comeback to secure a 1-1 draw against Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday at the London Stadium.
The Ghanaian international earned a starting spot in the Hammers’ lineup and made his presence felt in a tightly contested match.
Brighton took an early lead in the sixth minute when Matts Wieffer capitalized on a wayward clearance from West Ham goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski, giving the visitors a 1-0 advantage at halftime.
West Ham responded strongly after the break, with Kudus levelling the score.
The 24-year-old nodded the ball into the net after Brighton’s goalkeeper, Bart Verbruggen, parried a powerful strike from Jarrod Bowen directly into his path.
Kudus played the full 90 minutes, contributing significantly as West Ham held Brighton to a draw on home turf.
For Brighton, fellow Ghanaian international Tariq Lamptey made an appearance in the 68th minute, replacing Joel Veltman.
Kudus, now with three Premier League goals to his name, will aim to lead West Ham back to winning form when they face Southampton at St. Mary’s Stadium next weekend.
