Ghana international Mohammed Kudus netted his first goal of the season in West Ham United’s emphatic 4-1 victory over Ipswich Town on Saturday.
The 23-year-old found the back of the net as the Hammers cruised to victory at the London Olympic Stadium.
West Ham started strongly, with Michail Antonio putting them ahead in just the first minute, capitalizing on a pass from Jarrod Bowen. Ipswich responded quickly, equalizing five minutes later through Liam Delap.
Kudus nearly scored in the 38th minute when his header, following a cross from Leif Davis, hit the post, leaving the first half at 2-1.
Bowen extended West Ham’s lead early in the second half, making it 3-1 just four minutes after the break. Lucas Paquetá sealed the victory with a goal in the 69th minute.
This win marked West Ham’s second of the 2024/25 season, lifting them to 12th place in the league standings.
For Kudus, it was a personal breakthrough as he scored his first goal of the season, having struggled to find the net in previous matches. His contribution brings his overall tally to 22 goal involvements since joining West Ham.
Kudus will now shift focus to Ghana’s upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers, where the Black Stars face a doubleheader against Sudan.
