West Ham United forward, Mohammed Kudus may face a six-match ban following his involvement in a series of confrontations during the team’s 4-1 loss to Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.
The 23-year-old received a red card in the second half after clashing with Micky van de Ven.
Tensions escalated as Kudus had another incident where he collided heads with Richarlison and then pushed Pape Matar Sarr in the face during a separate altercation.
Initially shown a yellow card by referee Andrew Madley, Kudus’s punishment was upgraded to a straight red after a VAR review.
Former Premier League referee Mike Dean commented on SkySports, stating, “When you look at the footage, he could have been sent off for the first incident alone.”
He also indicated that the FA might extend Kudus’s suspension due to his actions, saying, “Hopefully, with the second one, the FA will take retrospective action, so he’ll get penalized twice in my opinion for hitting two different players in the face on two occasions.”
If the FA does impose additional sanctions, the Black Stars forward could be out of action until December 2024.
