Missing excavators: I dare anyone with evidence against me to prove it – Ekow Ewusi [Audio]

-

New Patriotic Party (NPP) Cape Coast North Parliamentary candidate, Horace Ekow Ewusi has challenged anyone with evidence against him in the 500 missing excavators saga.

He has dared persons with evidence of his involvement in galamsey to prove, to come forward with it.

Mr Ewusi was suspended as the NPP Central Regional Vice Chairman and arrested by CID in February 2020 for his alleged involvement in the disappearance of some excavators seized from illegal miners in the country.

This was on the back of the revelation by Professor Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng, former Minister for Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation and also Chairperson for the Inter-Ministerial Committee on Illegal Mining (IMCIM), that some of the excavators which were seized from illegal miners between 2017 and 2018 had vanished.

The Minister indicated that he[Ekow Ewusi] had sold an unknown number of the pieces of equipment including excavators, in a letter requesting the CID boss to investigate Mr Awusi.

However, Mr Ewusi on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme categorically denied all allegations.

He said he is ready to put his candidacy on the line if any there is any evidence against him.

“I have said it on several platforms before and I repeat it today that if there is only person who can say I seized their excavator and sold it or I’m involved in galamsey, I will stepped down as a parliamentary candidate. I will not contest the election again,” he stated.
