Minority gives IGP 7-day ultimatum to arrest by-election hoodlums

Minority in Parliament has given the Inspector General of Police, David Asante-Appeatu 7-day ultimatum to arrest perpetrators of Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election violence.

The Minority on Tuesday February 5,2019 walked 2.23km to the police headquarters to demand justice for their college MP for Ningo-Prampram, Sam George and other members of the party who were injured during the by-elections.

The NDC MPs also presented a petition to the Director of Operations on behalf of the IGP, David Asante-Appeattu at the police headquarters.

Speaking to Adom News’ Abednego Asante Asiedu after the MPs presented their petition, Minority Chief Whip, Mohammed Mubarak Muntaka said all they’re demanding as a group is justice.

Muntaka Mubarak who is also MP for Asawase said President Akufo-Addo must ensure officials involve in the brutalities are dealt with.

Minority spokesperson on Communication, Alhaji ABA Fuseini said President Akufo-Addo should have fired the Minister of State in charge of National Security, Bryan Acheampong and the IGP.
