Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, says the enhanced tracing and testing coupled with the mandatory quarantine systems following the coronavirus outbreak are yielding results.
According to him, had the country not adopted this approach, the 274 extra will be with us and keep spreading.
“The mix of measures to aggressively go in search of it while limiting importation is the reason for which we have found 274 more cases,” he said in a tweet.

He, however, noted that if “we hadn’t as a country stepped up our approach to be ahead and go after the virus we would be reporting only 292 cases by now.”

The confirmed Covid-19 cases in Ghana have risen sharply by 158 to 566, the Ghana Health Service has announced.
On its Covid-19 website, the Service said a number of measures introduced to control and prevent further spread of the disease have resulted in the sudden increase in cases.
