Mike Oquaye Jnr denies conceding defeat

-

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for Dome-Kwabenya, Mike Oquaye Jnr, has firmly denied claims that he conceded defeat in the December 7 general elections.

In a statement from his communications team, Mr. Oquaye Jnr clarified that a video circulating on social media, purportedly showing him conceding, was recorded during an interview in 2020 and had been misrepresented.

“The circulating video is from an interview conducted during the NPP parliamentary primaries in June 2020,” Oquaye Jnr explained. “It was recorded during the Covid era, as evident from my wearing of a face mask in the video.”

He accused those sharing the video of deliberately attempting to mislead the public and insisted he has made no such statement regarding the December 2024 elections.

“This video has been taken out of context and is being misrepresented. I urge the public to disregard such false information,” he stated.

The statement, issued by the Dome-Kwabenya Constituency Communications Directorate, was signed on behalf of Michael Aaron Oquaye Jnr, affirming his position on the matter.
